Changes to the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal inquiry line number and mailing address

1 July 2010

The Tribunal has established its own inquiry line number:

1300 884 114

Recent feedback from stakeholders indicates a desire to be able to contact the Tribunal directly in addition to the current arrangement of being redirected via the common call centre operated by the Financial Ombudsman Service ('FOS').

The Tribunal will continue to participate in the common call centre for the benefit of consumers unsure where to direct their complaint about a financial service.  Calls made to the existing FOS/SCT inquiry line number of 1300 780 808 will continue to be directed to the Tribunal.

The Tribunal has also been notified by Australia Post that the Tribunal's mailing address has been amended to delete "GPO".  The corrected address is:

Locked Bag 3060
Melbourne Vic 3001

Mail addressed to the current postal address will be forwarded by Australia Post to the Tribunal.

The Tribunal is an independent dispute resolution body which deals with a diverse range of superannuation-related complaints and offers a free, 'user-friendly' alternative to the court system.

The Tribunal deals with complaints relating to decisions and conduct of trustees, insurers, and other decision-makers in relation to regulated superannuation funds, approved deposit funds, annuities, life policy funds and Retirement Savings Accounts.
